Open Minds: Prof. Randy Barnett & Prof Joshua Kleinfeld Part II
In Part Two of Open Minds with Prof. Randy Barnett and Prof. Joshua Kleinfeld, Prof. Barnett discusses his recently published memoir, A Life for Liberty: The Making of an American Originalist, and how his nonconformist upbringing shaped his path toward originalism. They also explore the tension between holding conservative views and seeking social acceptance within academia and elite circles. Prof. Barnett shares how Aristotelian philosophy and natural law initially influenced his worldview and later shaped his understanding of politics and political theory. The professors then examine the history and role of the Libertarian Party in American politics, as well as the cost of stagnation to the libertarian model.
